Projects/Achievements
1999 “Rehabilitation of Children with Autism” project was developed and implemented for the first time in Armenia.
2000 “Medical Equipment for a Children's Health Care Center” grant was awarded by the government of Japan.
2000 “Humalog Free of Charge for Adolescents” project was realized with the support of “Eli Lilly” pharmaceutical company and UMCOR organization.
2001 A new specialty: ergotherapy was introduced in Armenia, with the support of experts from Switzerland.
2002 A Rehabilitation Branch was founded at Missionaries of Charity orphanage in the town of Spitak, later in Spitak pediatric policlinic.
2002 Manual therapy (Maitland Concept) with the involvement of doctor-neurologist was developed in cooperation with the experts from St. Moritz, Switzerland.
2002 to present Continuous educational program for doctors, ergotherapists and special educators in Switzerland and ArBeS HCC has been realized (“Natalie Stiftung”, Bern, Switzerland).
2002 Continuous training of audiologist-speech therapists was carried out with the support of DAA association
2002 to present Continuous training of special educators has been implemented with the support of “Mission East”, Danish international relief and development organization.
2002 Arabkir JMC&ICAH recommenced the transplantation project with the support of partners and sponsors.
2003 “Development of Occupational therapy in Armenia and Georgia” project was implemented with the support of TEMPUS and ENOTHE network, Holland.
2004 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in the town of Spitak.
2004 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in the town of Vanadzor.
2004 to present As a result of cooperation with Yerevan State Pedagogical University after Kh. Abovyan, ArBeS HCC has become the base for practical training of students in Ergotherapy, Special Education, Speech Therapy specialties.
2005 Day Care Center opened within ArBeS HCC.
2005 The operation unit of ENT service was renovated with the support of “Aznavour pour l'Arménie" Charity Organization (Aznavour for Armenia), France
2005 - to present Telemedicine project was launched. The project has been realized with “Medical Missions for Children” charity organization, USA and Donchian Foundation. The project provides medical professionals from all the medical institutions of Armenia with an opportunity to present and discuss complex cases with US leading experts.
2006 The laboratory at Arabkir JMC&ICAH was renovated and correspondingly equipped with the support of sponsors.
2006 Playing ground for the hospital kindergarten and school was constructed with the support of sponsors
2006 Laparoscopic and Orthopedic operational rooms, Intensive Care and Post-operation Units were renovated and equipped with the support of sponsors.
2007 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in Armavir within the framework of “A Healthy Start” project implemented with the support of “Mission East” Danish international relief and development organization.
2008 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in Gavar and training of CDRC personnel, which was realized with the support of “Mission East” Danish international relief and development organization.
2008 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in Gyumri, training of the CDRC personnel was realized.
2009 A Child Development and Rehabilitation Center opened in Ijevan, training of the CDRC personnel was realized with the support of “Mission East” Danish international relief and development organization.
2009 “Continuous education of Nurses” pilot project was realized. The project development was initiated by Arabkir JMC&ICAH and SEMRAplus Foundation (Switzerland) and carried out by ARG Nurse School and CEJEF School for Social and Health Professions
2009 The Smile Project was carried out. The project - collaborative effort of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, the Smile Network International, Arabkir JMC&ICAH, Cafesjian Family Foundation and Hope for the City, Fund for Armenian Relief, Hand in Hand Foundation (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Armenian Gospel Mission, Ministry of Health of Nagorno-Karabakh, Yerevan State Medical University, and philanthropists Arthur Ispirian and Madlene Minassian-Ispirian was a private-public initiative to provide free reconstructive surgery to Armenian children and young adults with cleft lip and palate birth defects.
